Native Waxy Maize Starch


Native Waxy Maize Starch is an unmodified starch sourced from specially selected Non-GMO waxy maize. Unlike conventional corn starch, it contains almost exclusively amylopectin. This delivers unique functionality across a wide range of food manufacturing applications.
In water-based systems, Waxy Maize Starch yields a high-viscosity, clear paste upon cooking. It exhibits little tendency to retrograde or gel upon cooling. Exceptional freeze-thaw stability makes it ideal for Deep Frozen products, Crèmes, Cold Fruit Cups, and Milk products. Its special thickening ability also suits Baked Goods, Soups, Sauces, Dietetic products, Baby Food, and Powdered Food applications.
Native Waxy Maize Starch is not suitable for acid preparations below pH 5.0. It also performs poorly under strong shear forces from high-speed stirrers, pumps, or colloid mills.
