Nuts & Seeds set to shine as FDA updates ‘healthy’ claim
In December 2024, the FDA issued a final rule that expands the definition of the nutrient content claim ‘healthy’. This allows more foods, including nuts and seeds, to qualify for the label. Nuts have long been associated with heart health, and now both nuts and seeds can be labeled as ‘healthy’ if they meet regulatory criteria.
