Pregelatinized Waxy Maize Starch

Pregelatinized Waxy Maize Starch is a specialized native starch that is produced from Non-GMO waxy maize — a unique corn variety that contains almost exclusively amylopectin. This pregelatinized starch is cold water-soluble and features exceptionally high swelling capacity as well as superior thickening properties. It is particularly suitable for neutral to slightly acidic applications that require immediate thickening without heat treatment.

Non-GMO Pregelatinized Waxy Maize Starch is commonly used in instant foods, dry mixes and beverages that require instant hydration and thickening without heat application. In frozen applications with mild processing, it resists syneresis and offers improved freeze-thaw stability compared with normal maize starch. In puddings and yogurts, the high amylopectin content delivers a soft, glossy, non-gelling viscosity that contributes to a creamy mouthfeel.
