Heliaflor® 45 – Organic Sunflower Protein Powder

Heliaflor® 45 is characterized by a higher fat content. The water-binding capacity is stronger and the fat-binding capacity is slightly lower. Heliaflor® 45 has a brownish color and a more intensive taste that is suitable for bold flavors and darker colored products.

Heliaflor® 55 – Organic Sunflower Protein Powder

Heliaflor® 55 contains almost no fat. CO2 extraction of this product variant reduces the fat content and simultaneously increases the protein content of the end product. This process leads to a higher fat binding capacity. Heliaflor® 55 is beige in color and has a neutral taste.

Textured Heliaflor® — Organic Textured Sunflower Protein

Our Textured Heliaflor®—made from 100% sunflower protein—impresses with its bold & nutty flavor. It serves as the perfect meat substitute in dishes such as Pasta Bolognese, Lasagna, Chili and Tacos. This product can be processed both wet and dry which opens up a wide range of plant-based applications.

  • *CO2 extraction processing results in a product with less than 4% fat
  • Minimum 50% protein
  • Maximum 24% fiber
  • Maximum 4% fat
  • Target Applications: Meat Substitute in Vegan Tacos, Sausages, Burgers, Pasta Sauces, etc.

Our second category of Organic & Non-GMO Sunflower Protein is our 50 High Oleic line which features four (4) options from specially selected high oleic sunflower seeds—all of which guarantee the following:

  • Minimum 80% Oleic Acid
  • Minimum 50% protein
  • Maximum 23% fiber
  • Maximum 12% fat

Following selection, these specialty seeds are peeled, partially defatted by mechanical process and ground to a powder which produces a protein source that is neutral in color, odor and flavor. This line of protein is highly stable and features good water and fat binding capabilities.

Why does Oleic Acid content matter?

Ingredients with a higher level of Oleic Acid content (>70%) are highly desirable thanks to their increased stability across Food & Beverage applications, as well as serving as a healthier source of fatty acids.
