The law requires warning labels on products that may generate exposure to cadmium above the safe harbor level of 4.1 micrograms per day.

Mercury: Mercury compounds are neurotoxic—affecting brain development and the central nervous system. Chronic exposure to mercury can lead to memory loss, mood changes, tremors and impaired motor skills. Mercury also has the ability to cross the placental barrier and negatively impact fetal brain development in utero.
