Starch isn’t just starch. Starches are used to transform texture, enhance shelf life, and create pleasant eating experiences without compromise.

Depending on the raw material source, Modified Starches are used for different applications and are obtained from Native Starch through physical, enzymatic, or chemical processing methods. Wet and dry chemical processes, drum drying, and extrusion methods are all used to alter the properties of native starch such as freeze-thaw stability, acid or alkali resistance, and shear stability.

Whether you’re seeking crunchy or creamy textures for your next formulation, Modified Starches are developed for a wide range of manufacturing conditions and are well-suited for most processed food & beverage products.

Austrade offers six (6) different types of chemically Modified Non-GMO Waxy Maize Starches that fall under the Acetylated Distarch Adipate (E1422) and Hydroxypropyl Distarch Phosphate (E1442) categories.

E1422 and E1442 are used in similar applications as emulsifiers, stabilizers, and thickeners in a wide range of products such as soups, sauces, condiments, and desserts.

E1422 is often used in products that require low-temperature processing, such as dairy products and bakery items. It is also used in products that require a low degree of stability, such as salad dressings and sauces.
